Mr. Jānis Kārkliņš is the former president of the Preparatory Committee of the World Summit of the Information Society (WSIS). He was also the first vice chairman of the Council of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). Jānis Kārkliņš was the vice chairman of the Working Group on Constitutional Reform of the WIPO. Mr. Kārkliņš served his country as the chief of administration for the Department of Foreign Economics Relations and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He held the position of Counsellor in Latvia's embassies in France and Finland.
